Founded by former County Commissioner Diane Webb, the Make a Senior Smile event brings together volunteers from across the community to help our senior and disabled neighbors rake leaves and clean up their yards ahead of the winter months.

After a brief hiatus due to the COVID-10 pandemic, County Commissioner David Knezek has joined forces with Dearborn Heights Treasurer Lisa Hicks-Clayton to relaunch the program in the city of Dearborn Heights in 2023. Plans to expand to Garden City and Inkster are planned for 2024.

All volunteers receive complimentary breakfast, lunch, and a free t-shirt. We kindly ask that all volunteers bring their own rakes. If you are interested in sponsoring the event with a tax-free donation of, please see our sponsorship information below.

Platinum Level - $1,000
